Grandparents Day

Concordia Academy loves our Beacon grandparents! Each year, we welcome them for a special Grandparents Day where they get to see the school, spend time worshipping with their grandkids, enjoy a delicious breakfast, and learn about the ministry of Concordia Academy. We hope they leave our campus feeling loved, filled, and inspired!

Our 2025 Grandparents Day is scheduled for the morning of Monday, October 27. Watch for details the week of September 15.

The gift no one wants to discuss, yet it could be the best present ever! We plan for so many things in our life; weddings, children, school, college, buying a home, vacation, retirement…..but we are not particularly good at planning for death. And It is the one thing we are all guaranteed to do one day. Creator and Facilitator of A Lifetime Gift™ (and Thrivent Client) Shelly Halverson will be sharing from her multiple, personal experiences, her research and her training to be a Certified Celebrant about how to prepare for the end of your life. This doesn’t mean that you are dying, it means that you will be reviewing options, discussing and giving your family a guide. A checklist will be shared with each participant as well as a variety of tools and resources. When you express how you want to die, you share how you want to live. This tool is meant to give a sense of reassurance, including topics like life summary, pet information, spare keys, codes, medical history, location of important papers, credit reporting agencies, finance details, reward programs, passwords, subscriptions and so much more. Open to all ages and stages. Register for this one-hour interactive online webinar to receive a toolkit that once completed will provide your family with the resources they need to celebrate your life without the stress of hunting for information. Join Creator and Facilitator of A Lifetime Gift™, Shelly Halverson, to explain what steps should be taken now and what tools and resources are available. Also, you will have an opportunity to hear from Financial Associate, FP Name, to learn three practical steps you can take immediately to get your financial information in order.
