Grandparents Day

Concordia Academy loves our Beacon grandparents! We’re excited to welcome Beacon Grandparents back to our campus for Grandparents Day on Oct. 27! Grandparents will see the school, spend time worshipping with their grandkids, enjoy a delicious breakfast, and learn about the ministry of Concordia Academy. We hope they leave our campus feeling loved, filled, and inspired! This year, we’ve added the opportunity for grandparents to spend more time with their grandkids and will also offer a special optional seminar. 

Here’s the schedule:

11:00 am | “A Lifetime Gift™,” an opitonal seminar with lunch included
8:00 – 8:50 am | Grandparents and grandchildren arrive and have breakfast together and tour the campus. Grandparents can feel free to arrive anytime during the 8:00–8:45 window. They will also have time to tour campus with their grandchildren.
8:55 – 9:45 am | All CA students and grandparents attend chapel; grandparents and grandchildren sit together.
9:45 – 10:45 am | Grandparents are escorted to the auditorium by their grandchildren, say goodbye to the grandkids, and then enjoy special entertainment by CA students in the auditorium.
10:45 am | Grandparents depart, unless they are attending the special seminar.

After you have confirmed the your child’s grandparents can attend, submit the form below. After submitting the form, an automated email with all the necessary details will be sent. (If those emails do not arrive shortly after submitting the form, be sure to check SPAM, promotions, and newsletter folders.) A reminder email will be sent the week before the event. No printed invitations will be mailed.

Due to our expanding student body and the large number of grandparents who attend this event, it’s important that we have an accurate count, both for the morning activities and the optional seminar/lunch by 12 noon on Oct. 17. Because of space limitations, registration may close before Oct. 17 if the event reaches capacity.

FREE Optional Event

The optional Thrivent presentation has reached capacitity, and registration is now closed.
Following the special presentation, which ends at 10:45, grandparents are invited to stay for “A Lifetime Gift™,” an optional one-hour presentation (with a free lunch), courtesy of Thrivent. We plan for many things in our lives, such as weddings, children, education, buying a home, vacations, and retirement, but we are not particularly good at planning for death. And it is the one thing we are all guaranteed to do one day. Shelly Halverson, Creator and Facilitator of “A Lifetime Gift™” (and a Thrivent client), will share her personal experiences, research, and training as a Certified Celebrant. A checklist will be shared with each participant, along with a variety of tools and resources that cover topics such as life summary, pet information, spare keys, codes, medical history, location of important papers, credit reporting agencies, financial details, reward programs, passwords, subscriptions, and more. Attendees will walk away feeling empowered to discuss options with their families. Select the number of attendees below.
