Principal’s Newsletter • Dec. 2025

Dear CA Families,
Many blessings to you and your family during this Advent season. May the Lord fill your hearts with His peace and your homes with His joy as we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Savior.
This semester has been an incredible reminder of God’s faithfulness and the beautiful ways He is moving within our CA community. His love and light are evident in our students each day, and it is a joy to witness them growing deeper in their faith and excelling in their pursuits.
Below are just a few highlights of how our students are using their gifts and demonstrating excellence both on and off campus.

Academics Updates
Students in the Intro to Business class have completed the Stock Market Game—a nationwide education simulation where students invest $100,000 of virtual money in the real-time markets to learn about finance, economics, and smart decision making.
Sophomores in English 2 are channeling their inner Guy Fieri in completing their own restaurant reviews, capping off the composition semester of sophomore English.
Our world language classes are busy this month. Students in French class are caroling and creating ornaments celebrating a tradition in a French-speaking country. American Sign Language students have been on the hunt with a scavenger experience around the school, while our students in Spanish are completing an immersive real-world experience.
The X-Factor Robotics Team from the Engineering and Robotics course took first in two categories at a recent competition, earning them a spot at the state competition!
Students in our Exploring the City of God elective course have been studying the top 25 impactful Christians throughout history, with a focus on Dietrich Bonhoeffer, C.S. Lewis, and Billy Graham this month.
Fine Arts Updates
Our fall theatre production of Harvey was hugely successful, with every performance packed. Auditions for our spring musical, Frozen, are currently underway.
Choir students are preparing for auditions for the Concordia University, St. Paul Honor Choir, which will perform this winter alongside the choirs of CSP. Students in our choirs also continue to sing the National Anthem at home athletic events.
Our annual Christmas concert is right around the corner on December 13 and 14. Instrumental and choral students are excited to perform in this musical extravaganza you won’t want to miss!
Mixed Media students are finishing up their Upcycled Art assignment. They had to create a piece of art using a thrifted object that cost $3 or less! Up next, they will be working on Neurographic Art, a form of art therapy to help with relaxation. It’s the perfect pre-finals activity.

Athletics Updates
The winter season is a busy and exciting time for the Beacons, as nearly 100 students participate in a winter sport at CA.
The dance team took third place in their second competition of the season!
The boys and girls basketball teams have an exciting opportunity to play at the Target Center on December 16th. Both teams will be competing against St. Croix Lutheran Academy, with the girls game at 5:00 PM and the boys game at 7:00 PM.

Beacon Block Updates
Chapel: Our highlight last month was Vision4Life. Family Life Groups served across the Twin Cities at 18 different locations, including Midwest Special Services, Source MN, Metro Hope, Good in the Hood, Prelude Home Services, Bridging, Wingspan, Loaves and Fishes, and Jehovah Lutheran Church.
On Monday, when our girls were out serving, the boys enjoyed a day of fellowship and learning on campus for their seminar day, including a fun-filled game of Ultimate Sun Ball. On Tuesday, the boys served, and the girls were on campus, and their “playtime” included karaoke, arts and crafts, nail art, Mario Kart, and other fun games and activities.
The speaker on the boys’ seminar day was author and professional speaker Nick Foulks, and the girls’ presenter was speaker, author, and evangelist Porcia Baxter.

Assemblies: Our Foundations of Leadership class created and ran our first-ever winter sports kickoff last month. Students heard from winter sports captains, played games, and competed for the most spirited class.

Counseling & College Planning Updates
Over 80% of our senior class met early action deadlines for college applications. Way to go!
The guidance staff is working with sophomores on career exploration tests and starting to prepare them for 2026-2027 course registration, with special consideration of the many on-campus college offerings CA provides.
The guidance staff will be conducting their yearly freshmen interviews to reflect on the transition to high school and identify ways to continue supporting all of our students in goal setting and in finding success in high school.
We recently completed our 9th and 10th grade testing and the junior PSAT. We have adopted IXL, a program that integrates with these testing platforms with its own diagnostics to be a tool for students to continue to grow in core academic areas and challenge themselves to perform at their highest level.
Thank you to our families, faculty, staff, and community members for your faithful partnership, steadfast support, heartfelt prayers, and the countless ways you pour into our students as they grow in the Lord. The CA community is truly something special, and I am deeply grateful for each of you every single day.
Wishing you and your loved ones the Lord’s abundant blessings, peace, and love this Christmas season and always!
In Christ’s Love,

Mrs. Jasmine Anderson, M.Ed, ATC
