CA Announces New Leadership Structure, Names New Principal

Concordia Academy is excited to announce a new leadership model that will be implemented starting with the 2024-2025 school year. Rev. Dr. Timothy Berner will serve as Executive Director, and Jasmine Anderson has accepted a Divine Call to serve as Principal.

Pastor Berner, who has served at Concordia Academy since 1994 and began his tenure as CA’s principal in 2005, will be shifting to the newly created Executive Director role. The Executive Director will be the head of school, with an emphasis on external relationships, including mission advancement responsibilities.

“I am thrilled to continue to lead Concordia Academy and honored that the Executive Council has entrusted me in this role, which will allow me to focus even more on sharing with others the incredible ways God is at work at CA,” Pastor Berner explains. He continues, “When they asked me to consider serving as Executive Director, I said I would do so only if a well-qualified, mission-driven principal could be found. After an exhaustive search, I am delighted that we found that person in Jasmine Anderson.”

Mrs. Anderson is the Principal of Activities at Orange Lutheran High School in Orange, CA, where she has been on staff since 2019. She has served in Christian education for 17 years after receiving her teaching credential and Master of Education degree from Concordia University, Irvine.

The Andersons had been praying about moving their family of eight to Minnesota, so this Call to CA is an answer to their prayers. Jasmine’s husband Nick was raised in the southeast part of the state, so this will be a homecoming of sorts for him and an exciting new adventure for Jasmine and the Anderson children, Autumn, Norah, Penelope (Penny), Bjorn (Bear), Lochlan, and Harper, who are all lifelong residents of Southern California. They are excited about this new chapter in their lives and joining the Concordia Academy community.

Jasmine shares, “I feel incredibly humbled and blessed to be joining the ministry at Concordia Academy.  I am deeply passionate about my vocation as a principal, supporting high school students as they grow to become all that the Lord is calling them to be. I can’t wait to continue in this divine work at CA.”

Pastor Berner adds, “After a decade of growth that includes a 50% increase in enrollment, facilities enhancements, expansion of clubs and ministry programs, and creation of the award-winning Concordia Cohorts curriculum, this new leadership vision helps position CA for the next stages of growth and development. The Lord has been incredibly faithful to this ministry in every past season. I have total confidence that he will be equally as faithful in this exciting season that is to come as Concordia Academy continues to lead, teach, and inspire students to become all that God would have them be.”

We look forward to sharing further details about this new leadership model in the coming months. Please keep the students, families, and staff of CA in your prayers as they move into this exciting new phase of ministry.
