A Simple Admissions Process for a College-Prep Education

Discover a Private Christian High School That Will Help Your Teen Thrive

Everything about parenting teens is complicated, from keeping them safe on social media to figuring out the correct curfew. But Concordia Academy makes high school (and the admissions process) much easier.

We start by surrounding you and your family with a supportive Christian environment that expects the best of your teen — academically, socially, and spiritually. Then, university professors come right to our Roseville, MN, school campus, so juniors and seniors can choose from more than 90 college credits and still enjoy all the traditions and fun of high school. And, thanks to small class sizes, every student is seen, known, and encouraged.

Sound like the right place for you and your family?

When you ask your high schooler what was the best part of their day and the response is ‘Scripture,’ followed by them sharing the class discussion topic that day, you know that the choice to send your child to a Christian school has been validated. My daughter has been able to excel academically, participate as a three-sport athlete, and develop leadership skills through opportunities provided in class, in sports, and through community partnerships.”

One of the most amazing things that we found at Concordia Academy was the value of dual enrollment in both high school and PSEO at Concordia University St. Paul. Our tuition dollars were paying for both an awesome private high school education, as well as both of our oldest children’s first years of college. Yes…the first year of college done by the time they graduate!

  • Is there an application fee to be considered for enrollment?
    Admissions

When applying to Concordia Academy, there is a $150 non-refundable registration fee required to complete the application process for new students. This fee helps secure your student’s place and covers processing. For international students, an additional $2,000 non-refundable enrollment fee is due upon acceptance to hold their spot and assist with documentation and visa processing. Payments can be made easily online through our secure platforms. If you have questions or want to start your application, our Admissions page is here to guide you.

  • What paperwork or documents do we need to apply?
    Admissions

To apply, families should complete the online application through TADS and fill out the New Student Information form at https://www.concordiaacademy.com/admissions/new-student-supplemental-info/. After these are submitted, Concordia Academy will request transcripts and recommendation forms from the student’s current school.

For international students, additional visa paperwork such as the acceptance letter and I-20 form will be provided after acceptance. The school is available to guide families through every step of the process.

  • Do new students need to take a placement test or academic evaluation?
    High School Admissions

New students, especially freshmen, participate in testing that covers math, science, and language arts to help place them in the right classes and support their success. This testing typically occurs before registration to ensure accurate scheduling. Families also complete a detailed new student information form to share academic and support needs. After these steps, students often have an interview before proceeding to course registration. For more details, please see our registration and testing information.

  • When will we hear if our student is accepted?
    Admissions

After completing the application and submitting all required materials, you can typically expect to be notified of acceptance within 1-2 weeks. A meeting (via Skype or in person) with the parents or guardians, student, and school administrator may also take place before a decision is made. Once the interview and any meetings are complete, you will be notified about acceptance. For international families, a $2,000 non-refundable enrollment fee secures your student’s place and allows us to process necessary documents like the acceptance letter and I-20 for visa application. For details on the full admissions process, you can explore our new families guide.

  • Do siblings of current students get priority in admissions?
    Admissions

While we do not grant priority to siblings of current students, we are usually able to accommodate that request. We warmly welcome new families and guide them through a straightforward application process. Families can start by applying online, submitting transcripts, and completing a new student information form to help us get to know your student better. After the application, there may be an interview and testing before enrollment confirmation. We encourage you to connect with our admissions team for personalized guidance to make your family’s transition smooth and supportive. Learn more about the new families process and application steps.

  • What payments are due to confirm our child’s enrollment?
    Admissions

To confirm your child’s enrollment, families typically need to complete registration through TADS, which includes paying a non-refundable registration fee ($150 for traditional students and $200 for international students). Tuition payments and any applicable fees—like athletic or co-curricular fees—are due as outlined in your TADS account. You can make one-time tuition payments or other fees online through secure payment forms. For details on tuition, fees, and payment plans, visit our Tuition & Payments page.

  • What should parents expect during registration and orientation?
    Admissions

Parents can expect an informative and welcoming registration and orientation experience designed to prepare their student for a successful school year. During Registration Night in the spring, students sign up for specific courses for the coming year. Then, in August, Beacon Kickoff (the week before school starts) offers orientation for new students and families. At this event, new students connect with Student Ambassadors, walk through their schedules, meet teachers, enjoy a “Taste of CA” lunch sampler, learn about activities, and discover life as a Beacon. In parallel sessions, parents and guardians follow their student’s schedule, meet teachers, and learn about school life. Families will also have student photos taken for IDs, receive locker assignments, review class schedules, tour the building, and learn about academic opportunities, student support, and school policies. Note that dinner is not served, but the evening concludes with a fun ice cream social. Important emails with event details are sent beforehand. For juniors and seniors enrolled in college classes, a separate mandatory PSEO orientation is held in August.

  • What academic or behavior standards should new students meet?
    Admissions

New students should come ready to engage in a rigorous, college-prep academic environment balanced with strong support. We look for students who are responsible, independent workers eager to grow and explore their interests, whether in honors classes or creative spaces like our ICE Lab. Behaviorally, we value students who are respectful, motivated, and ready to be part of a Christ-centered community that encourages character and spiritual growth. Families can expect small classes and personalized guidance to help each student succeed.
