Principal’s Newsletter • March 2026

Dear CA Families,
God’s richest blessings to all as we enter this spring season, a time that reminds us of renewal, growth, and the faithfulness of the Lord in all areas of our lives. This semester has been an incredible blessing as we have witnessed meaningful growth in our students in so many ways. They are deepening their relationship with Christ, engaging more intentionally in chapel and spiritual life opportunities, and learning what it means to live out their faith in their daily interactions and decisions.
Academically, students continue to challenge themselves by exploring new interests and strengthening their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. We have also seen wonderful growth in how students pursue their passions through co-curricular activities. Whether in the fine arts, athletics, service opportunities, or leadership roles, these experiences help shape well-rounded young adults who learn perseverance, teamwork, creativity, and responsibility.
High school is such an important season for teenagers as they begin to take on greater ownership of their learning, choices, and future goals. During these years, students are not only gaining knowledge but are also building essential life skills such as self-advocacy, resilience, time management, and the confidence to step outside their comfort zones. We are proud to see our students learning how to navigate both the challenges and the joys of this stage of life while being grounded in a strong Christian foundation.
Support from family and the community plays a vital role in this journey. Encouragement at home, open communication, and a willingness to allow students to take appropriate risks and learn from their experiences and mistakes all contribute to their growth and independence. As students begin doing more for themselves (managing their schedules, communicating with teachers and coaches, and making thoughtful decisions), your partnership helps reinforce the importance of responsibility, accountability, and faith-filled perseverance.
Together, as a school community rooted in Christ’s love, we have the privilege of walking alongside these young people as they grow into the individuals God has called them to be. Thank you for your continued prayers, support, and trust. It is truly a joy to witness the ways our students are flourishing spiritually, academically, and personally. May this spring season continue to be filled with growth, hope, and abundant blessings for your family.

Academics Updates
CA hosted its first Academic Preview event earlier this month, marking an exciting new opportunity for students to look ahead and thoughtfully plan their academic journeys. Throughout the event, students explored both familiar subjects and new elective options while connecting directly with teachers. Teachers had engaging displays, sample projects, and fun conversations that helped bring the curriculum to life. Students explored both familiar subjects and new elective options, gaining insight into areas they may want to pursue more deeply. The event created space for students to discover new interests, challenge themselves academically, and begin making intentional decisions about their schedules, leaving with a greater sense of confidence and excitement about what lies ahead. We are grateful to our faculty for their thoughtful preparation and enthusiasm in making this inaugural Academic Preview both informative and inspiring, celebrating the breadth of learning opportunities at CA.
Fine Arts Updates
Last month, we had the joy of celebrating our incredible band and strings students during their much-anticipated winter concert. The evening was a testament to the dedication, discipline, and passion our young musicians bring to their craft. From powerful, full-ensemble moments to more delicate and expressive passages, the concert highlighted not only the technical growth of our students but also their ability to work together, listen to one another, and create something meaningful as a community. It reminded us all of the joy music brings and the important role the arts play in shaping confident, creative, and collaborative learners.
Our recent performances of Frozen, the Academy Award–winning Disney story, have already been a wonderful success, delighting audiences with its inspiring themes of bravery, friendship, and the enduring strength of love. The stage adaptation brings the familiar and cherished songs to life while also introducing additional music written specifically for the theatrical version, adding fresh energy and emotional depth to the production. Over the past several weeks, our students and directors have poured tremendous effort and passion into creating a show marked by beautiful music, imaginative staging, and compelling storytelling. From lively ensemble scenes to heartfelt character moments, each performance has highlighted the remarkable talent, commitment, and collaboration within our CA fine arts community. If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to attend, we warmly invite families, friends, and community members to join us for the final performances this weekend. Remaining shows will take place March 20–22, 2026. Click here for tickets, but be warned: the remaining performances are almost sold out.

Athletics Updates
Spring has officially arrived at CA, and with it comes the excitement and energy of a brand-new athletic season! Athletes have been training hard, building team chemistry, and setting personal and team goals as they look forward to strong performances in the weeks ahead. Softball and track started last week, and the momentum continued to build as baseball and golf teed off their seasons this week. Boys lacrosse will also be joining the spring lineup on March 30. With so many teams in action, there will be countless opportunities for our community to come together in support of our student-athletes. Spring sports are about more than just competition; they are about perseverance, teamwork, leadership, and school spirit. Our athletes dedicate countless hours to practices, strength training, travel, and games, all while balancing their academic responsibilities. Seeing supportive fans in the stands and along the sidelines makes a tremendous difference, giving our teams an extra boost of encouragement and motivation. We invite families, friends, and community members to come out this season to cheer on our athletes, celebrate their hard work, and be part of the exciting moments that make CA athletics so special. Your presence truly matters, and together we can create an electric atmosphere that lifts our teams and showcases the strength of our CA community. Let’s make this a fantastic spring season. Go Beacons!

Robotics
Team X-Factor returned Wednesday night from the Create US Open robotics tournament in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Impressed by the high level of competition by 150 teams from 30 states and 10 countries, the team did better than their member-set goal of winning 25% of the matches they were in, winning almost one-third of the qualifiers. They ended up competing in the Elimination Rounds with, of all teams, a team from Concordia Lutheran School of Omaha! The alliance’s loss in the bracketed elimination round was to the alliance that eventually won X-Factor’s Division. The team did a great job representing CA and had some fun outside the competition, visiting an Escape Room and enjoying “downtime” in the evenings at their Airbnb. It was a great way for them to wrap up their years of robotics at Concordia Academy!

Counseling & College Planning Updates
Optional junior family meetings are being held, where our counseling staff has the privilege of meeting with families to process next steps for post-high school plans and a “less stress” senior year! Families are given a junior year checklist, receive guidance on practical steps to take for the spring and summer, and are provided with information about the college application process.
Students should pay attention to CA’s Daily Announcements for information about the soft launch of new guidance lunch opportunities. With one done and more to come, students are invited to eat lunch with select guidance staff to discuss topics such as stress management, studying for finals, making the most of summer, test anxiety, and more.
Our Counseling Corner’s topic of the month is vaping and tobacco use in teens. Feel free to take time to peruse this document to see how this issue affects youth and discover helpful resources.
As my family and I approach our two-year mark here in Minnesota, I find myself filled with deep gratitude for the way the Lord has guided every step of this journey. Transitions are rarely easy. Moving halfway across the country meant leaving behind familiar places, close friendships, family, and routines that had shaped our daily lives. There were moments of uncertainty, seasons of adjustment, and times when we had to simply trust that God was leading us exactly where we needed to be.
Yet through it all, the incredible support, prayers, and genuine love of the Concordia Academy community have reminded us again and again that when God calls you to a new place, He also provides the people, encouragement, and strength needed to thrive there. What once felt like a daunting change has become a tremendous blessing. We have been welcomed in ways that have exceeded every hope and expectation, and we are continually reminded that we are not walking this journey alone.
One of the greatest joys has been getting to know our students. Their energy, faith, curiosity, and desire to grow inspire me every single day. Watching them navigate their own transitions, whether it’s entering high school, trying something new, or stepping into leadership opportunities, has deepened my appreciation for how the Lord works through seasons of change. These moments can feel uncomfortable or even overwhelming at times, but they are often where the most meaningful growth takes place.
Our CA families, too, demonstrate a spirit of partnership and care that is truly special. The encouragement they show one another, the prayers they lift up, and the ways they support both their own students and the broader school community create an environment where people feel seen, valued, and uplifted. It is a reminder that God’s plan often unfolds through relationships and shared experiences. If you are in a season of transition, whether moving to a new place, starting a new chapter, or facing unexpected challenges, take heart: the Lord’s plans are always good.
Thank you for the kindness, prayers, and unwavering support you have shown us. It has been a gift beyond words. We look forward with hope and excitement to all that God has in store for the years ahead, trusting that He will continue to guide, strengthen, and bless this remarkable CA family.
In Christ’s Love,
