Principal’s Newsletter • Nov. 2025

Dear CA Families,
May the peace of the Lord be with you all as we celebrate His blessings this November!
This fall has been such a blessing for Concordia Academy. The Lord is at work in so many ways, and He continues to shine through our students’ presence and participation on and off campus. Highlighted below are just a few examples of the incredible growth we’ve seen in our students this fall.

Academics Updates
Thank you for partnering with our faculty to support the academic success of our students!
Students are gaining real-world experiences through multiple field trips. Our trades class visited a local mechanic’s shop, the strings class performed at a local nursing home, our Emerging Artist students attended a panel discussion and received a tour of a university’s art department, and our Entrepreneurship class observed how a local store operates through conversations with the business owner.
Video production students are learning the ins and outs of camera techniques by creating their very own how-to videos!
In the English department, students have been studying stories in immersive experiences with Ms. Morton, who has transformed her room for each story. Meanwhile, sophomores wrote essays exploring their ideas about what could make CA better!
Students have been sharing about their faith life in Scripture classes through presentations and essays. They have also been learning about different world religions, writing essays reflecting on what it means to be born again in Christ, and celebrating Christmas in October as an introduction to their study of the book of Matthew.
Math students are exploring the world of invisible numbers (with a special guest “I”), creating their own math transformation videos, and working through their own math-related escape rooms.
Students in our Foundations of Leadership class have been working hard to prepare for our Vision4Life Days, which bring our community together for service learning, fellowship, and faith formation
Check the Friday email updates for opportunities to help support this event and to get involved

Fine Arts Updates
Students in the fall play, Harvey, have been working hard to get ready for opening night, which is Friday, Nov. 14 at 7:00 PM. Other performances are on Nov. 15 at 7:00 pm and Nov. 16 at 2:00 pm. Tickets are available for purchase here.
Choral and instrumental music students are preparing for our annual Christmas concert on December 13 and 14., It’s one of our favorite performances all year!

Athletics Updates
Thank you to our amazing family and friends who pray for and support our incredible Beacon student-athletes!
We are so proud of our girls soccer team, football team, volleyball team, and cross country runners for their work in playoffs this fall season. It has been a blessing watching these athletes glorify the Lord through their unique gifts and talents!
The winter season is ramping up quickly, and we are excited to cheer on our basketball teams, wrestlers, dancers, hockey players, and archery athletes in their upcoming competitions.

Beacon Block Updates
Chapel: Highlights this fall have included special “Worship and the Word” services and an intentional blessing on our Family Life Groups.
Piano Recital: CA students filled the Conservatory for an informal concert by piano students from University of Northwestern during one of our academic Beacon Blocks. The UNW students played beautifully, shared background about the music, and chatted with our students.
Beacon Breakouts: Due to a busy Beacon Block schedule the last several weeks, it’s been a while since our Beacon Breakouts have run. So, students were especially excited to jump back in. Recent highlights included a Fellow of Christian Athletes gathering, Beacons for Life learning and planning together, game playing, book reading, and students being creative together in arts and crafts.

Counseling & College Planning Updates
As you know, feelings of anxiety are common as students navigate adolescence, and these emotions can sometimes affect their performance in school, activities, and relationships. While anxiety is a normal part of life, some students may need additional support to develop healthy coping skills. Take a look at this helpful resource for ways to support a child facing anxiety and to learn more about how Concordia Academy cares for the well-being of all our students.
We’re also excited to share that our guidance office has a new addition to the support team! Tracey Steivang will be expanding her role at CA beyond teaching Scripture classes to include providing emotional and mental health support for students. Tracey also runs her own life coaching practice and will be a tremendous blessing as she brings her experience and compassion to the counseling office at Concordia Academy.
Students have been working hard to develop their college and career skills. During grade-level instruction during the academic Beacon Block time, students have
- Started career exploration tests and tracking job outlooks.
- Started their academic resume and activities sheets.
- Applied to colleges, collected recommendation letters, and applied for many different scholarships.
- Prepared for and taken the PSAT and ACT standardized tests.
- Connected with college representatives who come to our lunch to visit with students and share about their schools and programs.
ParentPulse Survey
This is the survey tool we began using last year to help gather important feedback from our parents and students. Please look out for an email with the survey link. These emails will be sent out to our community in small batches over the course of the next 90 days. Thank you for participating in this survey. Your input and partnership are critical to the work we do at Concordia Academy.
To God be the glory for all of our blessings this fall! This also wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and support of our amazing faculty, staff, and supportive families. The body of Christ is so beautiful!
In Christ’s Love,

Mrs. Jasmine Anderson, M.Ed, ATC
