BEAMS Middle School Athletics
Concordia Academy is excited to offer a BEAMS Athletics program for middle school students. BEAMS stands for Beacon Elementary And Middle School, and the program is designed to offer these students opportunities for athletic growth and competition that will complement…not replace…the sports offerings at their current schools. (CA also offers a Beacon Buddies athletic program for 1st-4th graders.)
At Concordia Academy, we believe that discipline, teamwork, commitment, victory, and even defeat can provide rich opportunities to cultivate strong character in athletes. Our coaches are committed to this cultivation of character. This commitment is equaled only by the commitment to fully develop the athletic talents of each of our athletes. We believe that excellence in athletics honors God and blesses athletes.
BEAMS sports are open to students in the appropriate grade levels from any Twin Cities area school.
Our BEAMS registration system uses the same platform as our summer camps program, meaning you can use your existing login information if you have registered for CA Camps before.

Fall Sports
Football (7th and 8th Grade Boys)
Our BEAMS Athletics program is designed to offer middle school students opportunities for athletic growth and competition that will complement, not replace, the sports offerings at their current schools. BEAMS football strives to provide your child with a positive experience with coaches who are invested in both their athletic development AND their personal development. The 2025 season will officially kick off on August 18th, with practices and games running through the fall. The season wraps up with playoffs, typically concluding in the third week of October. Families should plan for a 4-night per week commitment, consisting of three practices and one game each week. In addition, there will be a couple of optional summer dates to prepare for the season. In 2023, we made the decision to open the program to 6th grade boys. Parents, please evaluate your son’s readiness for this program, knowing the primary competition will be 7th & 8th grade opponents.
Cost: $250
A $50 early bird discount expires on June 13. A $25 early bird discount expires on June 30. The full tuition price goes into effect on July 1.
Winter Sports
Basketball (5th – 8th Grade Boys and Girls)
Concordia Academy offers a modified traveling basketball program that operates as the Concordia Academy Basketball Association. Our boys and girls teams are available to 5th-8th grade players from all schools. The number of teams per grade level and gender will be determined by interest and numbers. Practices are typically Mondays and Thursdays starting in late October, and the season will end in late February or early March.
Spring Sports
Track & Field (5th – 8th Grade Boys & Girls)
Practices are generally held on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, 5:00 – 6:30 pm, and practices are scheduled to begin on Monday, March 31. Typically, there are four track meet competitions during the season. Events will include short sprints, long-distance running, throwing, jumping, and hurdling. Parents will be responsible for transporting students to the practices and meets.
