Concordia Academy’s 2020-2021 Reopening PlanIn the midst of the world-changing challenges since March 2020, Concordia Academy’s four core values have taken on an added significance. As so many things were changing last school year, we remained firmly committed to:
As we spent over two months physically separated from one another, putting those values front and center helped ensure a successful shift to online learning and helped make us an even stronger high school.
CA Strong, our reopening plan for the 2020-2021 school year, is the result of a collaboration between experts in mental health, physical health, and education. It will build on what we learned last year and allow our students and teachers to safely return to our campus in August in a way that is both reasonable and responsible. Click here for the full details of our reopening plan.
All typical extra-curricular activities will be offered, including athletics and arts, subject to decisions made by the Minnesota State High School League.
Although it will not always be feasible, physical distancing will be utilized in classes as much as possible.
Large group gatherings will be limited.
As mandated by an Executive Order from Governor Walz, cloth face masks, covering nose and mouth, will be worn while in the building except when eating and drinking, participating in high-aerobic activities, or outside and distanced.
Enhanced health screenings will be in place, including temperature checks when entering the building.
New technology will help ensure that, when students must be absent, they can remain connected and easily view class discussions. This same technology will be used for our new online-only option.
Should a pivot to online learning become necessary to keep students safe, the combination of new technology and last year’s experiences will strengthen our program even more.
