A student is recommended for graduation when all financial obligations have been met and the student has earned the minimum number of academic units. Present policy requires that every student attending all four years acquire twenty-four units. These units must include the following areas:
  • English: 4 credits
  • Religion: 4 credits -- or 1 credit per year of attendance
  • Social Studies: 3 credits
  • Fine Arts: 2 credits
  • Mathematics: 3 credits
  • Science: 2 credits
  • Physical Education: 1-1/2 credits
  • Health: 1/2 credits
  • Keyboarding: 1/2 credits
  • Other Electives: 4-1/2 credits

A credit is a class which meets every class day in a block period (85 minutes) during a semester. Classes which meet during a half-block ("skinny") earn .5 credit per semester. Further details are given in the course description.

The study of a foreign language is not a graduation requirement but is highly recommended by several colleges. College-bound students are encouraged to complete two units of the same language while in high school.
