Technology is a tool that can change the nature of learning. At Concordia Academy, instead of existing as an isolated area, technology is integrated into the classroom in numerous ways, existing side-by-side with textbooks, lectures, discussions, group work, and independent learning. Instead of replacing established teaching and learning methods, technology at CA compliments and enhances them.
CA has several Macintosh laptop carts, a Chromebook cart, and iPads. A dedicated lab space with iMacs is used for Photojournalism and Graphic Design classes, and iMacs are available for student use in our commons.
Our new ICE Lab is a technology-rich environment where students come together to Innovate, Create, and Explore. Using Computer-Aided Technologies, students can learn CAD design, 3D printing, laser cutting/engraving, and CNC routing. Other students may explore the chemical processes of cooking in molecular gastronomy or the creation and sequencing of music with digital audio workstations. ICE Lab is hands-on, project-based, and cutting edge.
Technology is a vital part of our STEM2 program, which prepares students to take the lead in the advanced fields of science, technology, engineering, math, and medicine. It provides a rigorous curriculum path, requires an internship with a STEM2 company, and includes a senior research project entered into regional competition.
High-speed wifi is available throughout the building.
